This verse is one that I’ve always loved.
“God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.”
Psalm 139 MSG
We all have that one friend who we’re closest with. One that we would share anything with that’s going on in our lives. This verse talks about having that close relationship with God. This verse call us to develop that same loving, caring, do-anything-for kind of relationship with the Creator!
God doesn’t want us to feel distant from Him. He wants us to continue to be connected even when we feel physically far away. God knows what we’re thinking in every moment. He knows the words we’re going to speak even before they come out of our mouths. I definitely don’t have a friendship that’s so close that they know my every thought of every moment!
But this is a relationship that we all want, right? Someone who knows us so well that they know what we’re thinking even when we feel far away. We want to trust someone so much that we would share everything with them: every thought, every word, every feeling.
When we open our hearts and trust the Lord, we can get a glimpse into what that relationship looks like!
Here's a song that always reminds me that we have this close relationship in Christ when we trust in Him and open our hearts!
